May 5, 2023 — The state of Kansas has allocated $4.2 million from the state’s budget (House Bill 2184) to Wichita State for need-based aid.

May 4, 2023 - Orel Ovil came to Wichita State University from Israel to play tennis and study in the W. Frank Barton School of Business in 2018. He is one of 10 students to earn Senior Honor recognition, the highest honor awarded to WSU students who demonstrate outstanding scholarship, leadership, involvement and service to WSU and the surrounding community.

May 3, 2023 — Mary Elizabeth Thornton is ready to put her education at Wichita State University into practice and begin teaching mathematics to middle school students in North Carolina.

April 26, 2023 — Zoe Jones transferred to Wichita State University from Texas Tech University and is enjoying her softball experience with the nationally ranked Shockers. In 2022, she earned all-region and all-conference honors at second base and a spot on the American Athletic Conference All-Academic team. This season, she is one of the leading hitters on a team headed to NCAA regional play.

April 25, 2023 - John Kirk returned to college at Wichita State University to study vocal music and dive into activities. April 21, 2023 — During his public introduction as Wichita State University’s women’s basketball coach, Terry Nooner spoke to the current Shockers seated in the front row. That group, he said, is part of what comes next.

April 20, 2023 — The W. Frank Barton School of Business at Wichita State University has chosen two recipients to receive the 2023 Professor Fran Jabara Scholarship in Entrepreneurship. This year’s winners are Kayla Atkinson from Andover Central High School and Caleb Lowry from Eisenhower High School in Goddard.

April 20, 2023 - Kayce Litzau is a senior setter on Wichita State University’s volleyball team and an engineering major. April 20, 2023 - Wichita State’s Media Resources Center will live-stream the Plains Regional Regatta for the third year, using MRC staff and students for all aspects of the production. It takes place Sunday on the Arkansas River in downtown Wichita.

April 3, 2023 — A user experience (UX) Austin research firm has discovered a secret ingredient in its recipe for success: Wichita State University students. In the past decade, several students have found their way to Human Interfaces, an Austin UX firm, for both applied learning experiences and full-time careers.

March 24, 2023 - Paul Mills walked on the court at Charles Koch Arena as head coach of the Shockers for the first time on Thursday. He is well acquainted with the building, however, and how Wichita State fans can fill seats and affect games.

March 21, 2023 - For the 12th straight year, Wichita State University is the most popular transfer destination for students at Kansas community colleges.

March 17, 2023 — Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Director Steven Dettelbach and Senator Jerry Moran recently visited Wichita State University to announce plans for a unique new National Forensic Laboratory at Wichita State. The forensic laboratory is a new $75 million facility that will complement the Gun Crime Intelligence Center of Excellence and National Integrated Ballistic Information Network Correlation and Training Center, which were announced last summer.
